On board computer retrofit for 986 and 996
The on-board computer retrofit for 996 & 986 models is a simple and straight-forward conversion to perform.
The cable we sell (pictured) is designed to integrate with the wiring loom fitted to your car and a set of steering column stalks that have the necessary OBC stalk. Whilst you can make these yourself it can be awkward to work out the connections and source the connectors.
To fit the retrofit simply disconnect the battery, remove the airbag, steering wheel, and clock spring after following the requisite safety procedures. Replace the current stalks with those giving the extra functionality and connect the cable. Remove the instrument cluster.
Screw the earth tag on the cable end to a suitable grounding point, insert the remaining cable ends into their relevant connection points on the instrument cluster and refit all items.

After fitting it will then be necessary to have your vehicle coded with the extra option for the OBC to work.
Note - To prevent the airbag warning lamp from illuminating, the battery should not be connected with the airbag disconnected.
